STS will prepare young men for life and, hopefully, free them from a life of drugs, alcohol, violence, anger, oppression, abuse, pre-martial sex and other bad influences in their lives that lead to limiting their future choices. Young men in the 7th grade at MLK will be mentored through graduation from high school by a caring and committed team of experienced, successful adult mentors.

There is NO charge for participation in the mentoring and tutoring where young men will:
- Be accepted for who they are, not what they are.
- Join a team with four other young men and two mentors
- Participate in fun, exciting events and trips.
- Improve their academic performance.
- Expand their life skills.
- Develop good studying techniquest.
- Establish new life goals.
- Rasise their standard of moral character.
- Serve others.
